“Linsanity”
In 2012 “Linsanity” took the NBA by storm when former Houston Rockets point guard. Jeremy Lin displayed his superstar skills on the court. Now, Linsanity is headed to the Marvel Universe. Where the current Brooklyn Nets recruit will team up with Amadeus Cho in the pages of Totally Awesome Hulk.
“I was here in New York when Linsanity happened and it never stopped for me”. Totally Awesome Hulk writer Greg Pak told AM NewYork. “I followed him everywhere. I just love the guy. And at a certain point, I just found myself thinking. ‘Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if the biggest Asian-American superhero met the biggest Asian-American sports star”?
Lin’s guest appearance – which takes place in continuity, rather than in a promotional tie in or special one-shot. Will happen in the December issue of Totally Awesome Hulk, with interior art by Luke Ross and a cover from Bernard Chang. It’s unclear whether the team-up will take place in Totally Awesome Hulk #13, the next chronological issue after the title skips a month in November, of if it may double-ship in December.
Incidentally, ABC, who broadcasts NBA games, and Marvel Comics are both owned by Disney.
