Nobody really thought it’d be possible after those scathing reviews and a pretty significant second weekend drop. But Suicide Squad has managed to scrape its way to an impressive $700 million worldwide BO haul.
As a thankyou to fans, director David Ayer Tweeted the following:
The movie definitely seems to have split fans down the middle, and the majority of critics weren’t impressed – but there’s obviously still a loyal fanbase there. Personally I enjoyed most of Suicide Squad with minor magical issues, but I liked enough about it to want it to succeed, and I’m happy that a sequel now seems very likely.
